The stars of Suits are reuniting and reminiscing about their time on the show.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, Suits costars Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty attended 2024 Epic Cons to reflect on their time working together. When a fan asked their favorite memory from set, both had a hard time picking just one.
“When you’re at a job you loved for nine years, I can’t bring it down to one,” Hoffman said. “There’s all the people that you love working with, so do break it down into one, to give you that answer, I wish I could honestly tell you there was this one memory.”
Rafferty then chimed in with one scene she said she thinks back on often.
“In season 1, when Donna comes into Louis’ office and she’s got the tickets, and she whips them out of her shirt and put it on the desk in front of Louis, we got to improvise most of that,” she revealed. “A lot of times when we got to work together, we got to improve things.”
“Those were the most fun,” Hoffman, who played Louis Litt, added.
“They just let the camera roll,” Rafferty continued. “They just kind of kept it going, and we just went so far past anything you can possibly see on the screen. It just got so ridiculous, and that kind of laugher, I miss that in my life — the laughter with Rick.”
Hoffman agreed, saying that getting to have freedom with his character was “the most liberating, fun, exciting, rush moments creatively.”
As for other memories, Rafferty admitted she does have some souvenirs from set to keep a piece of her character Donna Paulsen with her.
“I totally stole s–t,” she laughed. “Lots of clothes, I have Donna’s couch… Nobody is coming for me I don’t think. I got some nice clothes. A lot of my shoes actually say ‘Donna’ in them, so I don’t them off at somebody’s house because they’re gonna be like, ‘You have a lot of shoes for some other lady.'”
The series centers on a fictional New York City law firm and follows the exploits of Patrick J. Adams’ Mike Ross, who manages to talk his way into a job as a lawyer despite having never attended law school. Naturally, Mike spends a number of seasons hoping to keep his big secret to himself, but eventually, it comes out.
In addition to Adams, the series also starred Garbiel Macht as Harvey Specter, Hoffman as Louis Litt, Rafferty as Donna Paulson, Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson and Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane.
Though the series ended in 2019 after 11 seasons, it’s still beloved by fans all over the world.
Suits became a runaway hit for Netflix after it released the show in June 2023 and became one of Netflix’s most-streamed shows of 2023. Its popularity arguably paved the way for an upcoming spinoff series entitled Suits L.A on NBC.
Epic Cons won’t be the first time the cast has reunited as of late.
Torres, Hoffman and Rafferty reprised their roles when they appeared in the trailer for e.l.f. Cosmetics’ 2024 Super Bowl ad. During another cast reunion at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas in June, Adams, Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer and Amanda Schull marked five years since the show’s series finale.
When Adams was asked by an audience member about the possibility of a Suits movie, he agreed that a cinematic addition to the franchise could be a potential prospect.
“Yes, and I say that being a person who has no power or authority, but obviously there’s a Suits: L.A. show that is being made that is the focus of [Suits creator] Aaron [Korsh]. I think he would agree,” said the actor, 43.
“But it’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together,” he added of Korsh, noting that a Suits movie is “gonna depend on a million things if that can happen.”
“But is it possible? I think it is possible,” he said.
