The Monarchs did not play last week after beating Centennial 42-25 on Aug. 22. This week they are in the biggest high school football game in the country: national No. 1 Mater Dei vs. national No. 2 Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas on Friday at Santa Ana Stadium.

Senior quarterback TJ Lateef threw five touchdown passes and junior running back Kamryn Shingleton rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown as the Lancers beat Rancho Cucamonga 45-14.
