Actress Rosario Dawson helped kick off the first day of LA Comic Con, which is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The event has been marketed as three days of comics, gaming, cosplay, anime and pop culture, according its website.
The Rent star had a meet-and-greet with her adoring fans, where she signed autographs and posed for pictures before moving on to the next event.
The actress then took to the stage as part of Spotlight On: Rosario Dawson, where she dished on some of her biggest and most impactful roles, and what they have meant to her and the fans over the years.
Among the more beloved characters she has played includes Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, as well as Claire Temple in Daredevil and Luke Cage.
Rosario Dawson, 45, was one of the featured stars at day one of Los Angeles Comic Con on Friday, October 4, where she took part in Spotlight On: Rosario Dawson
The character of Ahsoka has long played out in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), followed by a number of animated TV shows.
All of that came before Dawson first stepped into the role for the second season of the hit series The Mandalorian (2020), which is a creation of Jon Favreau.
‘I remember I met our Princess Leia, our Carrie Fisher, at a con in Chicago, and seeing how the fans were with her — and you know, I’d done some readings with Mark Hamill,’ the New York City native shared while on stage, according to WPVI TV.
‘To be able to use the force, and be in this space where I can say ‘May the force be with you’ legitimately, officially- like, I remember watching The Mandalorian episode with my mom and I say it at the end, and my mom literally just did like, this slow head turn from the screen to my face, and just like had tears in her eyes,’ she explained.
Dawson went on to share more stories of her long relationship with Star Wars as a fan and as a performer.
‘I literally just took a picture of my grandson next to an R2-D2 and a C-3PO with this whole sticker thing that was on this whole mural wall, that said, “The force is strong with this one.” And I was like, “It’s coming full circle, guys! It’s beautiful.”‘
The actress has also starred as the fearless nurse, Claire Temple, in several Marvel TV series, including Daredevil (2015–2016), Jessica Jones (2015), Luke Cage (2016-2018), Iron Fist (2017) and The Defenders (2017).
‘I think one of my favorite things about playing Claire was how many nurses and people in the health field contacted me,’ she told the riveted audience.
The New York City native looked her usual stylish self in a cropped black leather jacket over a matching dress and hat when she took to the stage

The actress talked about playing more beloved characters like Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, as well as Claire Temple in Daredevil and Luke Cage, among others
Dawson then shared about how she ended up becoming friends with a fan who works as a night nurse.
‘I just remember how much it meant to him to have that sort of character so uplifted, and in so many of the different shows, and showing how heroic and necessary her contribution was, not only to keeping these other heroes safe, but just in general,’ she said of the side benefit to playing a character like Claire Temple.
Along with shows like The Mandalorian and her stint as Claire Temple, Dawson’s acting resume for television includes Jane The Virgin (2018–2019), The Last Kids On Earth (2020), It’s Ponu (2020–2022), and Go-Big Show (2021–2022).
After kicking off her film career with Kids (1995), she has since starred in Spike Lee’s He Got Game (1998), Men in Black II (2002), Lee’s 25th Hour (2002), Oliver Stone’s epic Alexander (2004), Rent (2005), Clerks II (2006), Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof (2007), Seven Pounds (2008), Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), Jay And Silent Bob Reboot (2019), Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) and Clerks III (2022), among many others.
