MGM+ will be stealing from the rich and giving to the poor once again via a second, expanded season of Robin Hood.

Lionsgate Television and John Glenn’s show about the famous outlaw starring Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen and Sean Bean has been “one of MGM+s all-time best first-season performers,” according to the studio.

Season two of Robin Hood expands the world beyond Sherwood and Nottingham into the treacherous courts of England, France, and Rome, transforming the outlaw rebellion into a high stakes battle for the soul of a kingdom. As the Angevin empire threatens to tear itself apart, Rob and Marian are drawn into the orbit of kings and queens, forced to wield the very instruments of Norman power to secure a future for the Saxons.

Season 2 casting will be announced shortly. Patten and McQueen played the two leads in Season 1 while Bean was the notorious Sheriff of Nottingham. Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington and Connie Nielsen also star.

“Robin Hood quickly became one of our top-performing original series of all time, and the response from our audiences both in the U.S. and abroad has been exceptional,” said Michael Wright, global head of MGM+. “We’re thrilled to continue this epic adventure for a second season. John Glenn, Jonathan English, and the entire creative team have reimagined this legendary tale with remarkable depth and authenticity, and we can’t wait to see where they take us next.”

Robin Hood premieres on MGM+ in the U.S. and is available in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Glenn is showrunner and executive producer, along with executive producer and director Jonathan English and executive producer Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures. Carly Kleinbart and Nicole Bryant oversee the series for Hidden Pictures.

Glenn is repped by CAA, Range Media Partners, and attorney Jim Gilio. English is repped by CAA and attorney Jim Gilio. Hidden Pictures is repped by CAA and attorney Deb Linz.
