Authorities are searching for two robbery suspects connected to a shooting and carjacking that left one man dead and another injured in Los Angeles’ Florence-Firestone area overnight.
Deputies responded to the shooting call on the 9000 block of Compton Avenue around 11:40 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Meza confirmed to KTLA.
Investigators believe two suspects attempted to rob a dispensary when the fatal shooting occurred. The male victim, possibly a security guard, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second person injured in the incident was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
As they were fleeing the scene, the suspects carjacked a vehicle and are currently being sought. No descriptions of the suspect or the stolen vehicle were immediately available.
Meza said the incident was not gang-related.
