Police officers shot and killed a man suspected in an armed robbery in a parking lot in Los Angeles County’s Walnut Park neighborhood on Wednesday.
The shots rang out around 12:30 p.m. next to an apartment building at Seville Avenue and Walnut Street. Video from the scene showed the suspect deceased inside a bullet-riddled SUV, with shell casings on the asphalt.
The South Gate Police Department told KTLA 5 News that its officers were conducting an armed robbery investigation when they “made contact” with the suspect and the officer-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect’s identity was not immediately released, and no further updates about the alleged armed robbery were available.
