Reservoir High School in Fulton was evacuated Monday afternoon after regular dismissal, and closed for the remainder of the day due to an environmental concern in the building, according to an email sent to families.
Regular dismissal is at 2:35 p.m. each day.
At 3:41 p.m., high school officials sent an email announcing the evacuation and school closure, as well as cancellation of all activities or community events at the building for the rest of the day.
The Howard County Public School System sent an email at 3:44 p.m. to the school community of Reservoir High School, Lime Kiln Middle School, Fulton Elementary School and Cedar Lane School with the evacuation and closure. The other schools aside from Reservoir were not impacted and activities will continue, according to the email.
More details about the incident and the status of school for Tuesday classes will be sent to families later Monday, HCPSS said.
