WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Remarkable Indonesia Festival 5 is getting ready to kick off in the nation’s capital on Nov. 2.
The festival dives into the Indonesian culture with various food, vendors, and performances. Starting at noon on Saturday, Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest will transform to highlight the vibrant traditions and more.
The Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging drivers to avoid the area as the festival is underway. Police said streets will be blocked off and parking will be restricted near the event.
According to the police department, Emergency No Parking signs will be posted, and the following streets will be closed on Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.:
- Pennsylvania Avenue from 7th Street to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue, NW (west crossover)
- 6th Street from C Street to Constitution Avenue, NW
MPD said all vehicles parked in violation of the signs will be ticketed and towed.
Police encourage drivers to use caution when traveling near the festival.
