Reese Witherspoon made a major announcement on Instagram on Wednesday.
The Oscar-winner – who has already tackled acting, producing TV shows and movies, and creating a fashion line with Draper James – is branching out in a big way.
The 48-year-old Morning Show actress will be co-writing a book that comes out next year.
And the man she is working with is a massive name in the crime thriller genre.
He is Harlan Coben, author of the best-selling books The Innocent, Fool Me Once, The Woods and Shelter.
With Witherspoon’s background in TV and movie producing, there is a great chance the novel will be turned into more like a major motion picture.
Pal Gwyneth Paltrow loved the idea as she commented: ‘Wait, WHAT? How were we just texting and you said NOTHING about this?!?’

The yet-to-named novel will be released in the fall of 2025, she shared on social media.

The movie icon had on a blue button-down shirt with a gold chain necklace while Harlan wore a green blazer and matching glasses as both smiled while on a New York City rooftop.

He told AP: ‘Once we began discussing her idea, there was no turning back. Collaborating with Reese has been a pure joy and so creatively rewarding. I could not be more excited about putting this novel out into the world.’
Reese already has a book club that has been very successful and influential.
Under her media company Hello Sunshine, it was founded in 2017.
The club has gained a reputation for boosting the careers of female authors such as Delia Owens, Celeste Ng, and Megan Miranda.
Witherspoon, who recently announced she had chosen Lauren Ling Brown’s Society of Lies as her October book club pick, isn’t the first screen performer to collaborate with a prominent fiction writer.

Oscar-winner Viola Davis is working with James Patterson on a novel about a Black female judge in the rural South.
Witherspoon is directly involved in another notable pairing – she and her media company, Hello Sunshine, are set to produce a film adaptation of the Patterson-Dolly Parton novel Run, Rose, Run.
Last month Witherspoon teased that she is working with one of Bravo’s The Real Housewives franchise stars on an upcoming project after meeting her on a flight.
And now that Housewife has come forward.
Kyle Richards has confirmed it was her when on an Amazon Live show.
‘Yes, I was, and yes, that was me that she was referring to,’ said Kyle.
‘In case you guys didn’t see, Reese Witherspoon said something at the Emmys about being on a flight with a Real Housewife and working with her on something. So yes, that was me,’ added the Bravo beauty.
When Witherspoon walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in LA, she was asked by E! News about the Real Housewives.
Reese said she did not have time to watch but shared: ‘I did sit next to a Real Housewife on a flight recently.’
The reporter asked if she would name the star.
‘Umm, well, we might have a Hello Sunshine project cooking now, but I can’t say anything,’ the actress teased. ‘But it was cool, it was very cool.’
The actress didn’t say what city the Real Housewives star is from.

That promoted speculation from fans, with many taking guesses that Reese is working with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
Others thought that it was Kyle’s co-star Garcelle Beauvais.
‘I’d put good money on it being Kyle Richards,’ one wrote on Twitter. ‘It’s Kyle,’ someone else added. ‘It’s prob Kyle Richards! She’s a producer already.’
‘I bet she’s working with Garcelle,’ yet another person chimed in.
There were also guesses about the mystery housewife being Ramona Singer or Erika Jayne.
The Oscar winner also shared she’s been watching The Bear, Swans and Lessons in Chemistry.
Reese is nominated alongside co-star Jennifer Aniston for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, while The Morning Show has 10 Emmy nods, including outstanding drama series.
This is Witherspoon’s fifth Emmy nomination.
She has previously won once in the category of outstanding limited or anthology series, for Little Fires Everywhere.
Reese looked lovely on the red carper in a black and gold strapless gown with floral accents.
The 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards is set to honor the best of television at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, September 15.
The ceremony will be hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who are making history as the first father-son duo to emcee the program.
In 2020, the actors took home their own respective Emmy Awards for their work on their hit series, Schitt’s Creek, which they created and starred in for six seasons.
