A PROBATION officer has been stabbed by an offender they were supervising in a “serious assault”.
The worker was attacked in Oxford on Wednesday, The Sun has learned.

The suspect was detained by police and the probation office has since been shut.
The victim was rushed to hospital and their injuries have since been classified as not critical.
An emergency meeting is being held for probation officers in the Thames Valley area today.
It comes after there were calls in summer for greater protection for probation officers after a woman was stabbed in Preston in August.
After the incident, a petition calling for better security gained more than 15,000 signatures.
There were calls for airport-style metal detectors in offices – but no action was taken.
NAPO, the Union for probation workers, said in a statement: “News reached Napo yesterday afternoon that a member of staff in the Oxford PDU was the subject of a serious assault by a Probation client resulting in stab wounds which have not been classified as critical.
“The suspect was detained by Police and witness statements are being taken.
“We understand that the office has been closed and that PAM assist resources have been made available for staff.
“The thoughts and best wishes of Napo members everywhere are extended to the victim and all witnesses to this dreadful attack.”
