PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Fire officials are warning people to stay away from Suitland Road for an explosive device investigation Wednesday evening.
At 5:35 p.m., the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department said its bomb squad responded to 4414 Suitland Rd. for an explosive device investigation. There, they found a pipe bomb in a storage unit.
The bomb squad was working to disarm the device.
As of 8:53 p.m., PGFD said there was no harm to the community.
Drivers should expect road closures and emergency vehicles near the scene.
The bomb was rendered safe and was then broken down into parts.
Storage management discovered the bomb during a clean out of the unit.
