DONALD Trump admits he is thinking about running for a third term as president.
Musing on another White House bid, he told reporters on Air Force One as they headed to Japan yesterday: “I would love to do it. I have my best numbers ever.”
The 22nd Amendment of the US Constitution prohibits anyone from serving three terms.
But his supporters have floated the possibility that Trump could run for vice president, while another candidate stood for president and resigned — allowing him to take their place.
Trump has rejected this as “too cute”, however.
As Air Force One landed in Tokyo, Trump took to Truth Social to brag: “I am now getting the best polling numbers I have ever received.”
Kamala Harris has hinted she may run for the US presidency again in 2028 despite her crushing defeat to Trump.
The Democratic former vice president vowed “I am not done,” as she also hit out at Trump by labelling her political foe a “tyrant”.
Speaking in her first UK interview since the election thumping by Trump last year, Harris said she would “possibly” be president one day.
She also told Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg she was confident that one day there will be a woman in the Oval Office.
The two leading female candidates in the past – Harris and Hillary Clinton – both lost to Trump on election night.
The polls currently have Harris as a clear outsider to make a triumphant return to politics and become the Democrats’ pick for 2028.
