A pair of rubbish fires that ignited near UCLA West Valley Medical Center in West Hills are under investigation Tuesday.
The first incident was reported around 6:15 a.m. in the 7300 block of Woodlake Avenue, near several medical facilities and less than half a mile from the UCLA Medical Center.
One truck was sent to the scene and quickly doused the flames in about five minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department stated.
About 15 minutes later, a second fire started in the same area. A caller indicated they saw someone starting the blaze.
Firefighters were at the scene and an arson team was en route, the Fire Department stated.
Video posted on Citizen showed several people standing around a burning pile of debris as firefighters approached a bus stop.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The possible arson incidents come as the region is under a red flag warning due to gusty winds and dangerous fire conditions.
At least three wind-driven wildfires broke out Monday, one at Griffith Park, another along the 405 Freeway in Granada Hills, which heavily impacted traffic, and another Riverside County.
