A 35-year-old man in San Bernardino County has been arrested after authorities say an investigation found he had inappropriate online communication with a minor, officials announced Monday.
The investigation, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, began in Oct. 2023 after detectives with the department’s crimes against children detail received a tip from the Department of Children and Family Services that the 35-year-old was engaging in illegal behavior with a 16-year-old.
Investigators identified the suspect as Chino Hills resident Timothy Holub, who went by the online screen name “httechtims5.”
“During the online communication, Holub asked the minor to engage in lewd acts,” the release stated.
The 35-year-old was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for possession of child pornography, distributing or showing a minor pornography and contacting a minor for sexual offense.
Holub’s bail was set at $60,000. It is unclear, however, if he remains in custody.
Given the nature of the crimes, detectives believe there may be additional victims and released Holub’s photo for identification purposes.
