Police are asking for the community’s help in identifying a person of interest in an arson case where a fire was set on hospital property in Riverside County.
The Murrieta Police Department issued the request in a Friday Instagram post, asking “social media detectives” to help them out.
According to the post, the arson happened on Jan. 11 on the property of Loma Linda Hospital, located at 28062 Baxter Rd. in Murrieta.
Detectives developed a person and vehicle of interest through reviewing security camera footage, but noted that “there are currently no wants.”
The department identified the person of interest as a bald male of an unknown race and average build, seen in the footage walking with a small multi-colored dog.
In the photos released by police, the man is seen wearing what appears to be a blue, long-sleeved button-down shirt, a black t-shirt with a graphic, dark pants and white shoes.
In the Instagram caption, the department added “Yes… that is the best quality picture that we have.”
As for the vehicle of interest, police described it as a red or maroon older model van or sport utility vehicle, missing the front passenger side hubcap.
Anyone who thinks they may recognize the person, vehicle, or maybe the dog, is asked to contact Detective Leitch with the Murrieta Police Department at 951-461-6353 or [email protected].
