Police are searching for two Southern California children who were allegedly abducted in Sylmar.

Hrant Kolomoeits, 7, and Avaora Kolomoeits, 9, were last seen on April 8 at their elementary school on the 13000 block of Hubbard Street in Sylmar.

The siblings were picked up from school by their father, Rodion Kolomoeits, 39, who had recently lost custody of the children, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Kolomoeits is believed to be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius with California license plate number 9PKY966.

The vehicle was last seen crossing the border at San Ysidro into Mexico on April 8 at 2 p.m.

The suspect, Rodion, is described as a white male with brown hair and light-colored eyes. He stands 5 feet 11 inches tall. He is a Ukrainian national and is believed to be making efforts to return to Ukraine with the children, police said.

From left: Rodion Kolomoeits, 39, Avaora Kolomoeits, 9, and Hrant Kolomoeits, 7, are seen in photos provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Avaora is described as a white female with brown hair and blue eyes. She stands 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 75 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black pants.

Hrant is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He stands 4 feet tall and weighs around 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green and blue sweater and black pants.

The primary language for both children is Russian, authorities said.

Anyone who has seen Rodion and the children or knows their whereabouts is urged to call LAPD Detective Gutierrez at 818-838-9810.

The public can also call the LAPD at 1-877-527-3247. Anonymous tips can be provided to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.
