WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — On Wednesday, police arrested someone in relation to a fatal shooting that happened in Southeast D.C. almost four months earlier.
Around 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 19, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the 3000 block of Stanton Rd. SE for a reported shooting.
There, police found two men who had been shot.
One of them, 19-year-old Vonte Martin of Southeast, died there. The second victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On Dec. 18, MPD said that the suspect, 26-year-old Tyquan Jennings, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed.
