A man was saved by police who forced open a door to a burning garage in Orange County early Saturday.
The blaze was first reported just before 2:15 a.m. in the 800 block of South Flower Street in Santa Ana, according to a social media post by the Orange County Fire Authority.
Responding firefighters and paramedics were alerted that a possible burn victim was at the location, and a man with severe burns was located.
“Crews quickly contained the fire to the modified detached garage, preventing it from spreading to the house,” OCFA said on X. “[The man] had escaped through a door that quick-acting Santa Ana police officers had forced open before our arrival.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
