A small, single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing in the city of Coachella on Friday evening, officials confirmed.
Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department said the Cessna plane successfully landed in an open field near Calhoun Street and Avenue 49 around 5:30 p.m.
While the plane was landing, however, the banner that it had been pulling got caught in nearby power lines.
As a result, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office temporarily closed Calhoun Street.
The department did not immediately specify how many people were in the plane, but said at least one patient refused further medical treatment.
Details are limited, and officials did not reveal what injuries, if any, the single patient had as a result of the landing.
