LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Light rain continued to fall across Southern California on Wednesday afternoon as the first in a series of Pacific storm systems moved through the region.
Rain generally measured under a half inch in the Los Angeles area, with higher amounts in the mountains and along the coast in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
The National Weather Service called the rainfall “generally beneficial” with “minimal impacts” since it has not been enough to trigger mudslides on the wildfire burn scars.
“Off and on drizzle or light rain is possible through Thursday,” the Weather Service said in a bulletin. “The next storm will bring more rain to the area Thursday night into Friday.”
Additional rain totals of a half inch to one inch are expected through Friday before the skies clear, giving way to below-normal temperatures, meteorologists said.
