STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Deputies and firefighters in Stafford County rescued several abandoned animals last week.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said on Jan. 30 at around 7:30 p.m., deputies and crews responded to the North Vine Place and Sterling Court area. There, they found three abandoned puppies and a kitten in a nearby tree’s branches.
SCSO said firefighters were requested to the scene to rescue the kitten.

Firefighters were able to get the kitten out of the tree, and it and the puppies were taken to the animal shelter in hopes the owner will come forward, SCSO said.
