Sheriff’s deputies in Orange County are questioning a person of interest after man suffering an abdomen wound died Wednesday, officials confirmed to KTLA.
The incident, according to Sgt. Gerard McCann with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, occurred just before 2 p.m., with deputies being responding to the Mosaic Apartment complex in the 27000 block of Camden on reports of a man suffering from a serious stomach injury.
Deputies located the man, only described as being in his 20s, and attempted life-saving measures until medical personnel with the O.C. Fire Authority arrived and declared the victim deceased.

“Evidence in the area led to the detention of a person of interest,” McCann told reporters.
Video of the apartment complex obtained by KTLA showed a heavy presence of deputies and investigators, some of whom were speaking to two women who appeared to be residents of the complex.
Another person was seen in the backseat of a sheriff’s patrol cruiser, though it’s unclear if that was the person of interest.
As of 6 p.m., authorities said the scene was still active and the area was cordoned off by police tape.
Residents and motorists were encouraged to avoid the area of Felipe Road and Camden, OCSD said in a post to X, formerly Twitter.
