WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A person was shot and killed during rush hour Monday afternoon at D.C.’s Union Station.
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) said officers responded to Union Station at around 4:40 p.m., where they found one person who had been shot. Witnesses reported the potential suspect(s) had already fled the area.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said one male had been shot. He was not conscious and not breathing.
MPD Police Chief Pamela Smith said during a media briefing that two people walked into the waiting area at the Union Station parking garage. They seemed to know each other.
Smith said that the male who was killed seemed to grab something from the suspect, who then started to “return fire.” The man ran to the escalator, where he collapsed.
MPD was waiting to get clearer images from Amtrak or from the parking garage.
Smith said that there were very few people in the waiting area at the time of the shooting.
Police were looking out for one suspect in the shooting. They did not know the victim’s age.
