COPS have launched a murder probe after a pensioner was discovered stabbed to death at a home in a quiet village.
A man has been arrested after the 70-year-old was found with stab wounds at a property in Bowthorpe, Norfolk, in the early hours yesterday.
Norfolk Police confirmed it was called to an address in Layer Close just before 4.45am.
The force was alerted by the ambulance service, after it reported a man being violent and aggressive at the home.
A 20-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.
The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering stab wounds.
Det Chief Insp Kev Barber confirmed the victim and the suspect were known to one another.
He said: “Detectives will be working to establish the full circumstances of what happened this morning.
“We can confirm those involved are known to one another and there isn’t any wider risk to the public.
“I understand this news is shocking and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life.
“I’d ask that if anyone has information that may be able to help our investigation to please share this with us.”
