A suspected peeper who was chased from a women’s restroom at a Southern California college nearly a year ago may be at it again, the student who recorded one of the incidents said this week.

Video showing the suspect leaving a stall and running through the College of the Canyons Valencia campus restroom in October of 2024 was uploaded to Instagram by user protectthegirlss on Tuesday and then shared with KTLA.

“While using the restroom I looked down and seen a phone underneath the stall recording me. I yelled and it ended up being a man that was hiding in the very last stall waiting for girls to walk in and use the restroom to record them,” the unidentified victim says.

The student went on to say that a similar incident happen to another student on March 4, prompting her to post the video on social media.

In a follow up post, the student explained why she didn’t post the video sooner.

“The reason I didn’t post earlier is because when I asked both College of the Canyons and the SCV Sheriffs they told me I shouldn’t post anything because it might make the suspect change their appearance or ‘tip him off’ about what we knew.”

The student said the man was never caught came forward this time to warn others that he may still be around.

College of the Canyons issued a statement confirming that the first incident was reported to them in October and that a second “similar incident” took place earlier this month.

“Unfortunately, the victim was not able to clearly see the suspect, so we don’t have a description of the individual,” a portion of the statement said about most recent incident. “We take the safety of our students seriously, and our Campus Safety officers have all been briefed on what occurred and are alert for future incidents.”

Anyone with information was asked to contact Campus Safety at 661-362-3229 or the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-260-4000.
