Oscar Pistorius is enjoying a new life with his Reeva Steenkamp doppelgänger girlfriend in a millionaire’s mansion 12 years after he shot Ms Steenkamp to death.
The disgraced former Paralympian was released on parole last year after serving nine years behind bars for the murder of Ms Steenkamp.
Exactly 12 years since Pistorius shocked the world when he shot his then-girlfriend, the 38-year-old is now keeping a low profile at his uncle’s plush multi-million pound home in Pretoria.
The Blade Runner, a nickname given to Pistorius due to his prosthetic legs, is also making use of the mansion’s tracks by once again taking up running to pass the time.
Mark Williams-Thomas, a detective-turned-broadcaster who remains in regular contact with Pistorius, told the Daily Telegraph that after years in prison Pistorius is trying to get back in shape.
‘Exercise has always been so important to Oscar. He knows how important it is to keep fit and stay healthy. When he came out [of prison], he was a shadow of himself. In the first early days, I would speak to him and he was just profoundly exhausted, mentally and physically. He is much better now,’ Mr Williams-Thomas said.
When Pistorius does leave the gated mansion – which is surrounded by 15ft walls – he has been volunteering at a local church where he sweeps floors and he has also launched a new charity.
Pistorius is also said to have a new regular visitor to his home after he started dating Rita Greyling.

Pistorius is also said to have a new regular visitor to his home after he started dating Rita Greyling (pictured) – a 35-year-old business management consultant who lives close by to Pistorius

Ms Greyling is the daughter of millionaire parents who have been friends with the Pistorius family for decades.
Although the couple are keeping a low-profile sources previously told MailOnline in December last year that Pistorius is ‘besotted with her’ and wants to marry Ms Greyling and even have children with her.
A source said: ‘As he had his coffee, he hid under a parasol as he feels uncomfortable being seen. But he was talking about how he wants to have a wife and have his own children.
‘He didn’t mention Rita, and I haven’t seen them together, but he is in the right place in his life to fall in love.’
Members of Pistorius’ family follow Ms Greyling on her social media including his brother Carl on Instagram.
Pistorius’ Uncle Leo, 62, also follows her father on Instagram.
Leo’s wife Hermine is Facebook friends with Ms Greyling and her brother Ghini and another Greyling family member called Hella.
The relationship has been condemned by Ms Steenkamp’s family with her mother, June, previously saying she would be ‘concerned for the safety of any woman’ who comes into contact with him.

Pistorius murdered Ms Steenkamp in the early hours of the morning on February 14 2013.
He continues to claim the four bullets he shot through the bathroom door were intended for a possible intruder while he was unaware that his girlfriend was in fact behind the door.
At his trial the following year Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced to five years in prison
This conviction was then overturned by South Africa’s Supreme Court in 2016 who instead found him guilty of murder and extended his sentence by a further six years.
That same year, Pistorius gave his only television interview to Mr William-Thomas.
‘I did take Reeva’s life and I have to live with that,’ Pistorius told Williams-Thomas.
‘I can smell the blood. I can feel the warmness of it on my hands. And to know that that’s your fault, that that’s what you’ve done.’
The killer, who still has not confessed to his crime, has four more years of parole and is not allowed to drink alcohol or handle guns.
He must also keep out of Pretoria and Johannesburg nightclubs and live a reflective and reclusive a life as possible.
He is visited on random days and times by parole officers from South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services who check on him to see that he is keeping out of trouble.

Pistorius Is also undergoing anger management sessions to curb his violent behaviour which led to the shooting of Ms Steenkamp.
A source close to Pistorius previously told MailOnline: ‘He is trying to rebuild his life in a low-key way and avoids bars and restaurants and the general public and is flying under the radar.
‘He is slowly trying to reintegrate into society but that is being done through families that his family have been close to for decades and is slowly slowly.
‘The word on the street for three months now is that he is dating again’ she said.
