AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Fayla R. Rodriguez, 24, 3200 block of Florence Avenue, Steger, was arrested July 8 and accused of aggravated battery after spitting on a deputy and actively resisting arrest during a domestic violence call, Will County sheriff’s police said.
Burbank
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Cook County prosecutor approved a charge of aggravated battery to a police officer after a 41-year-old Naperville woman bit an officer’s thumb while being arrested July 20 for trespassing at a motel in the 5000 block of 79th Street, police said. Ijeoma J. Uwasomba, who also threw materials at a motel employee, was also accused of battery, along with trespassing and resisting arrest, police said.
ARMED ROBBERY: An individual reported being robbed at gunpoint July 21 after withdrawing cash from an ATM at the BP gas station 5149 79th St.
Evergreen Park
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Lamont K. Stigler, 33, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault July 23 at Ross For Less, 9104 Western Ave., after threatening an employee with a folding knife during an alleged retail theft, police said.
Monee
TRUCKS STOLEN: Two semi trucks were reported stolen July 15 from a truck stop at Monee-Manhattan Road and Interstate 57. The complainant told police the trucks were parked in the lot before two drivers were fired.
TRUCKER ARRESTED: Joseph Santucci, 40, Nashua, New Hampshire, was arrested and accused of assault and unlawful use of a weapon July 17 at the Blue Beacon Truck Wash, 25620 South Cleveland Ave., after brandishing a pair of metal knuckles at another driver and driving into the other trucker’s open door, police said.
PREDATOR ARRESTED: Jimmy Dale Davis, 36, 25500 block of Firestone Drive, Monee, was arrested July 24 and accused of failing to register as a sex offender, according to Will County sheriff’s records online. Davis was convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of a victim aged 13 to 16 when he was 19, according to Illinois State Police records online.
New Lenox
IDENTITY THEFT: A 33-year-old Warren, Michigan, man had six different fraudulent Illinois driver’s licenses with different names and information July 26 when he attempted to open a second line of credit at Tractor Supply, 2161 E. Laraway Road, police said. Joshua K. Williams was arrested and accused of identity theft after an employee recognized him from the previous night, opening a line of credit under a different name, police said.
Orland Park
WARRANT SERVICE: Brian A. Carlson, 56, 14300 block of Beacon Avenue, Orland Park, was arrested July 11 on a warrant for failing to appear at a drunken driving hearing by an officer who was responding to Carlson’s call that a person dressed as “The Joker” and a person dressed as a tree were looking in his window, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: A 45-year-old Chicago woman looking for her ex-husband forced her way into another woman’s home around 12:30 a.m. July 13, punched the woman and then brandished a handgun, police said. Karla M. Slayton, who had a 9 mm handgun, is accused of unlawful using a weapon, aggravated assault, endangering a child’s life and battery in connection with the residential visit on Hillcrest Circle, police said.
ROAD RAGE: Bradley J. Jongsma, 57, 7700 block of Palm Drive, Orland Park, and Jasmine L. Hikes-Martin, 33, Chicago, were arrested and accused of criminal damage to property July 16 after a road-rage incident that began in the 8700 block of La Grange Road and culminated with each driver smashing windows on the other’s vehicle at a nearby Orland Fire Protection District station, police said.
Park Forest
AGGRAVATED DUI: Patrick D. Wheeler, 48, 22799 block of Ridgeway Avenue, Richton Park, was arrested and accused of aggravated drunken driving, aggravated driving with a suspended license, driving in the wrong lane, driving without insurance, improper lane use and improper stopping June 27 after officers found him asleep at the wheel at Sauk Trail near Oakwood Street on the wrong side of the road with one tire over the curb, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: Carl E. Boone, 66, 100 block of Hemlock Street, Park Forest, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon during a July 3 traffic stop on Western Avenue at Dogwood Street after officers found a 9 mm handgun, determined he lacked a concealed carry license and that the state had revoked his gun permit, police said.
BATTERY: Ricardo P. Haymond, 30, 1500 block of Wentworth Avenue, Calumet City, wanted by Park Forest police in connection with an aggravated assault/firearm case and by the Illinois Department of Corrections for allegedly violating parole, was arrested July 5 on Lincoln Highway at Olympian Way, Park Forest police said. Haymond had driven to the home of a female acquaintance in Chicago, persuaded her to get into the car and then began hitting her in the face on Lincoln Highway when he noticed she was calling 911, police said. Olympia Fields officers turned Haymond over to Park Forest officers.
ILLEGAL GUN: A Cook County prosecutor charged Andre D. Johnson, 35, University Park, with unlawful use/possession of a firearm by a felon after officers found a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the car during a July 5 stop in the 300 block of Osage Street for driving with a revoked license, police said.
GUNS, BEATING: A juvenile fight in the 200 block of Tampa Street July 5 was followed by a woman firing a gun into the air, a man pointing a gun straight ahead and a man punching a 59-year-old man who asked him about the fight, police said. Cherita C. Murrell, 37, 200 block of Tampa Street, Park Forest, was accused of reckless discharge of a firearm, Stanley L. Smith, 68, 13200 block of Ashland Avenue, Blue Island, was accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and Siki Dawson, 34, Chicago, was accused of battery, police said. Officers arriving on the scene found the 59-year-old lying in the street semi-conscious, police said.
DUI CRASH: Erica C. Westbrook, 47, 1900 block of Stonegate Drive, Calumet City, was arrested July 7 and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit and driving without insurance after she drove into a tree on Western Avenue about 2 1/2 blocks south of Steger Road, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: A Cook County prosecutor approved a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon against Jaylin A. Durham, 21, 16700 block of Forest Avenue, Oak Forest, who was arrested July 11, police said. Durham, who lacked a state-issued gun permit and concealed-carry license, was in a car parked on Elm Street near Gibson Road with a loaded Polymer 80 9 mm handgun with an affixed laser sight, police said.
Steger
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Alvino T. Gonzales, 66, 1500 block of Otto Boulevard, Chicago Heights, was arrested July 2 at Party Liquors, 20 E. Steger Road, and accused of aggravated battery and criminal damage to property, according to police and Will County court records online. Gonzales urinated on cases of beer inside the store July 1 and pushed an employee when he returned July 2, police said.
CAR THEFTS: Police say they solved the theft of at least four unlocked cars near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Steger Road with the arrest of a 16-year-old male July 25. The teen is accused of theft/more than $10,000 and possession of a stolen motor vehicle, police said. The cars were unattended with the motor running while the drivers were inside a business, police said.
University Park
Jeanetta A. Wright, 33, 800 block of Oakside Lane, University Park, was indicted July 18 on a six-count bill including two counts of aggravated domestic battery/strangulation stemming from July 4, according to Will County court records online.
