WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Vice President Kamala Harris joined forces with Oprah Winfrey Thursday night in a star-studded campaign event in the key swing state of Michigan.
Former president Donald Trump spoke with members of the Jewish community in the nation’s capital.
Harris and Trump are running neck and neck in this election, both are trying to lock up key support.
Starting Friday and throughout the weekend both will be in states that are seen as must-wins for their campaigns.
“This is the moment,” said Winfrey.
Vice President Harris and Oprah took center stage for a campaign event in a make-or-break state for her campaign: Michigan.
“Freedom to be safe from gun violence, freedom to have access to the ballot box, freedom to be who you are,” said Harris.
The “Unite for America” event was made up of grassroots supporters, highlighting voter registration.
Harris addressed key topics for voters, from the economy to public safety to reproductive rights.
“Starting with the former president of the United state, they think they’re in a better position than a doctor or a nurse to determine when their patient need medical care,” said Harris.
The latest polls show Harris and Trump are running close in key swing states.
“47 days from now we are going to defeat Kamala Harris,” said Trump.
Trump campaigned in Washington Thursday night, delivering a keynote address at the Israeli-American Council National Summit.
“Any Jewish person that votes for her or the Democrat party should have their head examined,” said Trump.
There are now just 46 days until Election Day, and early voting has already started in some states.
