WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – The Ohio State football team visited the White House Monday. The team was honored for winning the national championship over Notre Dame back in January.
“It’s an honor to be invited,” said Coach Ryan Day.
The base of the 35-pound trophy fell off as Vice President JD Vance and star Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson held it up. The trophy is 26-inches tall and is made of gold, bronze and stainless steel.
OSU won four straight games in the first expanded 12-team College Football Playoff to capture the title.
