SPRINGFIELD, Va. (DC News Now) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said that some lanes on Interstate 495 were closed during rush hour due to a crash on Thursday.
VDOT said in a post around 5:50 p.m. that all lanes for the inner loop of I-495 were closed just before Braddock Road for a crash.
Virginia State Police (VSP) said that the initial call about the crash came in around 5:30 p.m. Two vehicles were involved, and injuries were reported.
In an update just before 6 p.m., VDOT said that two right lanes were open.
Officials said that drivers should expect delays.
