WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — NoMa is kicking off the fall season with several events, including its annual NoMa in Color festival. Visitors will be dazzled by colors as local artists bring more than a dozen murals to life.
“They are going to be adding 13 new and dynamic pieces of art that reflect neighborhood history, inspire conversation and foster community pride,” said Maura Brophy.
Brophy said the artists started working on their creations on Sept. 16. All of their hard work will culminate on Friday, with the NoMa in Color Last Dance of Summer Celebration from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“We’re inviting people to pick up a paintbrush and be part of the community fun by joining us in the creation of a community mural,” shared Brophy.
That is not all that is happening in NoMa this fall, CiNoMatic is back for another year of movie run. This season’s theme is “Fall in Love.”
“We will be showcasing everyone’s favorite rom-coms and classic love stories,” said Brophy.
The free movies will be shown every Wednesday evening at sunset at Alethia Tanner Park until Oct. 16.
