It marks the biggest single donation in history from a living person.

Parties are now building their war chests ahead of elections in England, Scotland and Wales next year.

PEER PRESSURE

Farage says he was snubbed by PM after a plea for Reform to have peers

It compares to the Tories who raised £4.5 million with Labour trailing on just £1.9 million, the Electoral Commission revealed.

The cash donation comes as speculation has mounted that an electoral pact will be made between Reform and the Tories.

Reform leader Nigel Farage has dismissed reports that a deal will be done between the parties.

Thailand-based businessman Harborne, 62, has previously donated to the Conservative Party.

He has also given big donations to the Brexit Party totalling £6 million.

He gave one donation of £3 million before handing the party £3 million on the eve of the 2019 election.

Following Boris Johnson‘s departure from Downing Street, he gave the Office of Boris Johnson £1 million.

Data from the Electoral Commission revealed all parties raised £24 million in the third quarter of this year.
