REFORM boss Nigel Farage has risked a rift with US President pal Donald Trump by warning him he is in danger of turning Vladimir Putin “into a winner”.

Mr Farage said he would take a different approach on negotiating a peace deal with Russia over Ukraine.

Amid signals the US could ease sanctions on Moscow, Mr Farage told the BBC he “would not be 100% with where the President’s team is right now”.

He said: “It’s quite right to aim for peace, but we can’t have a peace that turns Putin into a winner, so I would not be 100% with where his team is right now, absolutely not.”

Mr Farage has previously accused the West of provoking Russia after it invaded Crimea in 2014.

Pushed on past comments that Putin was “actually on our side”, Mr Farage responded: “There’s no point looking back then, we are where we are now.

“We want a peace deal, surely everybody wants a peace deal, but it needs to be equitable.

“Right at the moment, it appears Russia is getting far too much.”

The US President is demanding Ukraine hands over half its oil, gas and metals in return for America’s support, leaked documents claim.

His draft minerals deal would hand the US control of Ukraine’s natural resources and major infrastructure until Kyiv repays an £81billion war debt — with four per cent interest.

Zelensky must strike deal or face annihilation – Trump bust-up was disrespectful but WILL bring peace, says Farage
