California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday extended an executive order extending protections for wildfire victims in Los Angeles County.

The executive order, originally issued March 7, allows wildfire survivors to stay in rental properties longer than 30 days, prevents price gouging, and extends protections for fire survivors experiencing homelessness.

The order will now be in effect until Oct. 1.

“California has removed red tape and cut bureaucratic barriers to help the Los Angeles area recover,” Newsom said in a statement. “We will continue to support the rebuilding of Los Angeles by ensuring that those who have lost their homes have adequate access to temporary housing.”

The full executive order can be viewed here.
