(NewsNation) — A military report believed to have been concealed by the Biden administration is raising new questions about the timeline of COVID-19 cases.
The report, declassified by a Trump administration task force, details the 2019 World Military Games that took place in Wuhan, China. Out of the more than 200 U.S. participants, seven service members exhibited COVID-like symptoms between October of 2019 and January of 2020.
It adds to the growing tensions between the U.S. and China amid a global trade war. According to Politico, Beijing had already been limiting some U.S. exports.
Both Trump and Biden administrations said there was no evidence anyone got sick with the virus in that timeframe. The 2022 National Defense Authorization Act required the Biden administration to make the report of the games publicly available by the summer of 2022.
It was not made available until March of this year when it was uploaded to a Defense Department website.
The revelation also adds to evidence that COVID-19 was spreading in Wuhan long before China disclosed it in December of 2019.
A congressional report released in December of 2024 confirmed that the virus came from a lab leak.
