Netflix is doubling down in Turkey with a slate of new shows including To Love, To Lose from Yavuz Turgul.
To Love, To Lose follows Kemal, the collector and overall stronghold of a loan shark family, who confronts scriptwriter and obligatory restaurant owner Afife for a debt. This confrontation plunges them into emotions they never anticipated as they soon realize that love and honor are nothing like what they once believed. Cast includes İbrahim Çelikkol, Emine Meyrem and Yasemin Kay Allen.
That show is one of a trio of new ones from Netflix Turkey, which also includes Seni Tanıyorum, written by Tuğba Doğan, and Sonra Gözler Görür, penned by Ece Yörenç.
It looks set to be a big year for Netflix in Turkey, with the high-profile adapation of Orhan Pamuk’s The Museum of Innocence, which debuts on February 13. That one dropped its first clip earlier this month.
Elsewhere on the slate, a second season of Berkun Oya’s Ethos, a third run of Thank You from Ece Yörenç and the closing third series of Nuran Evren Şit’s Another Self. There is also Money Trap: The Karun Treasure, the latest instalment in the Money Trap series.
Netflix has been dropping new slates all week including in MENA, Poland and Korea.
