EXCLUSIVE: Independent Artist Group has signed Naturi Naughton, the actress, singer, and producer best known for starring in Starz’s Power franchise, for representation.
At IAG, Naughton joins a roster already including many other top stars of the Power universe, including 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Michael Rainey Jr., Joseph Sikora, and Mekai Curtis. In Starz’s hit crime dramas Power and Power Book II: Ghost, the actress plays Tasha, the wife of nightclub owner and drug kingpin James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), who as a savvy and resourceful individual, is heavily involved in her husband’s drug empire. Her work in the franchise brought her two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, among other accolades. While Power wrapped years ago, sequel/spin-off series Power Book II: Ghost just concluded its four-season run in October.
In television, Naughton’s other notable credits include Mad Men, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Client List, and Queens. On the film side, she most famously played hip hop icon Lil Kim in Searchlight’s Notorious, with additional credits including MGM’s remake of Fame, Warner Bros’ Lottery Ticket, and Samuel Goldwyn’s political thriller, 88.
Naughton first rose to fame as a teenager in the Platinum-selling girl group 3LW, where she sold 1.3 million albums. She’s also appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, where she played Lil Inez for three years.
In 2022, Naughton began looking to expand resume with work behind the camera as director and EP. Most notably, she’s executive produced the indie drama Color Book, which since its Tribeca Festival premiere earlier this year, has won the Deauville Festival’s Critics Award and the Austin Film Festival’s Jury Award for Best Feature, among other prizes.
Naughton continues to be represented by Brecheen Feldman Breimer.
