A MAN in his 60s has been found dead on a boat in a city centre with cops probing his “unexplained” death.
The tragic discovery was made by the Lady Julian Bridge in Norwich, just after 1.30pm on Sunday, said Norfolk Police.
Police, coastguard, fire and ambulance crews rushed to the scene after being alerted.
But a man in his 60s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.
The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
Friends made the shocking discovery when visiting the man’s boat moored near the Waterfront on Sunday afternoon.
He was named locally by a local as Karl Kesper, reports the Norwich Evening News.
His friends had been frequently visiting him due to ill health and found the man unresponsive on board his vessel in the afternoon, reports the outlet.
Mr Kesper, who was Canadian, is believed to have lived on his boat in Norwich, called the Ringpull, for several years.
Once local told the Norwich Evening News how he and Mr Kesper shared a love of sailing.
He told the outlet: “Karl was a bit of a recluse, but part of our community.
“He was happy, as far as I know. The guy had been unwell for some time.
“He lived on his own and did as he pleased.”
Cops confirmed that a file is being prepared for the coroner.
