MURDERED British hairdresser Victoria Hart’s three young children were comforted by relatives as they let off white balloons in memory of their mum.
It came after a minute’s silence outside her local Spanish town hall.
The 33-year-old’s grief-stricken mother Sue and sister Jemma also attended the poignant ceremony two days after she was stabbed to death at the home near Marbella which she shared with her son, 11, and seven-old-year twin girls.
Victoria’s estranged husband Juan Antonio Rueda, who handed himself in to police shortly after the Saturday morning killing and confessed to doing something “very bad”, remains in custody and is due to appear in court
Hundreds of locals, including Spanish and British residents, attended the 5pm gathering in her adopted town Alhaurín el Grande.
Victoria moved to Spain from Solihull in the West Midlands as a teenager.
A friend revealed she had said Rueda was ignoring a restraining order preventing him from going near her and the home, and was due to be tagged so police could control his movements.
Hull-born expat Elaine, 69, a regular long-time customer of Victoria’s said: “The last time we spoke she said they were waiting on the tag which was coming from another part of Spain and obviously it didn’t and he was continuing to breach his restraining order and abuse it by getting too close to her.
“Victoria did everything in her power to do everything right with the authorities but the system let her down.
“She changed the locks, she got cameras fitted, you name it, she did everything she could.
“Her ex should have had a tag on ages ago and that could have saved her life.
“The police decided he should wear it because he was ignoring the court order. But his attitude was, ‘I’m going to do anything I like and no-one’s going to touch me.’”
