A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man died in hospital following an alleged street attack.
An appeal for witnesses to come forward with information has been made by South Wales Police as they continue to try and piece together the fatal morning.

An unnamed 58-year-old was taken to hospital early on Saturday, February 28, after being found in Pencoed in a critical condition.
Officials confirmed the man passed away in hospital on Monday.
The Major Crime Investigation Team at South Wales Police, who are leading the investigation, currently has a 26 year old currently in custody.
Detectives are appealing to the public for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Felindre Road, Pencoed, between midnight and 5am on Saturday.
In particular they would like to speak to two elderly individuals believed to have been walking in the area between 12.30am and 4am on Saturday.
Motorists have also been asked to look through their dashcams for any relevant footage.
Detective Inspector Graham Williams, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Sadly, a 58-year-old man has died in hospital following the incident on Saturday morning.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this time and they are being supported.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we have somebody in custody and are not looking for anybody else at this time.”
The police have thanked the community for their cooperation and urged any potential witnesses to get in touch.
