A MIDDLE school teacher is facing charges for allegedly grooming and sexually abusing a student who saw her as a “mother figure.”
The teacher and volleyball coach reportedly met the student when he was just 12 years old.

Alisha Marie George, a 40-year-old teacher at K-9 Hawthorn Academy in West Jordan, Utah, is facing several charges after allegedly using “her position of trust to prey upon and groom a middle school child,” KSLTV reported, citing court documents.
The victim said he was struggling when George supposedly offered to help him by driving him to and from school and taking care of him while “his mother was bedridden.”
“[She] used this as an opportunity to engage in sexual acts with [the boy] from December 2023 through July 2024,” court docs said, according to KSLTV.
The victim, who is now 15, told police he met George at the age of 12 and developed a “tight relationship” with her. He told police he viewed her as “a mother figure” who was “always there for him.”
‘POINT OF NO RETURN’
The woman allegedly engaged in inappropriate kissing and touching with the boy, which then turned into more sexual activities, KSLTV reported.
“[The boy] expressed that he felt like he and George were ‘in a relationship’ and said that if he spoke with other females at school, George would become angry with him,” charging documents said.
George allegedly told the child that he was “not to tell anyone,” which is when he realized “he was ‘at the point of no return.’”
The child later described George as a “monster” because “at a time in his life when he needed someone the most, George stepped up but took advantage of him,” the charging documents read.
FACING CHARGES
After George’s arrest, multiple other students told police that they had allegedly “been groomed by (George) or observed the inappropriate behavior that (she) engaged in with students,” KSLTV reported.
George has been charged with attempted rape, four counts of forcible sodomy and 12 counts of forcible sexual abuse, according to KSLTV.
The woman has also been charged with distributing pornographic material and four counts of unlawful kissing of a child, the outlet reported.
Prosecutors anticipated additional charges to be filed related to the alleged additional victims.
Inmate records show she is being held without bond.
The U.S. Sun reached out to the K-9 Hawthorn Academy and West Jordan Police Department, but did not immediately hear back.
