THIS is the moment a truck ploughed into a crowd of hundreds of anti-Iranian regime supporters.
Chaos erupted after the U-Haul vehicle mowed through the demonstration outside a federal building in Westwood, Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.30pm to reports that a man drove the truck through the planned protest.
The side of the U-Haul had signs which allegedly read: “NO SHAH. NO REGIME. USA: DON’T REPEAT 1953. NO MULLAH.”
In video, demonstrators can be seen swarming the van and tearing the signs down from the side of the vehicle.
They hurled verbal abuse at the driver through a smashed passenger window.
At least two people have been injured and were treated at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Firefighters also said that they were working to find a third person who was also injured, but that the size of the crowd was delaying their response time.
As police walked the man away, some protesters were seen trying to punch him and hit him with flag poles, it was reported.
The truck’s windscreen and windows were reportedly shattered.
The demonstration was in support of the continuing mass anti-regime protests in the Islamic republic.
New reports confirmed the death toll in Iran had risen to 579, including eight children, after a fortnight of protests.
It comes as demonstrations against the regime erupt globally.
Demonstrators began gathering in Kensington, London, outside the embassy before moving to Whitehall while waving the country’s old pre-Islamic flag last night.
Some protesters were seen throwing items at the embassy, with Met Police officers forced to intervene in order to stop trespassers scaling the building.
Those in the crowds were also seen burning photos of Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Many instead waved pictured of the exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi.
Crowds in Berlin, Madrid and Paris last night chanted for the end of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s rule.
