THIS is shocking moment a drone carrying a pig gets caught tangled in power cables, causing a 10 hour blackout.

Jaw-dropping footage shows the comical silhouette of the suspended animal against a cloudy sky in China.

In the background, disbelieving spectators can be heard asking if the animal is okay despite despite being suspended at a dizzying height.

The incident occurred when a farmer ties using the drone to transport the pig to the slaughterhouse.

However, things went awry when the drone crashed into a local power line.

In doing so, he successfully cut electricity to the surrounding area.

Unable to free the drone from the cable, the pig was left dangling several meters above the ground.

The farmer explained that his remote village in Sichuan province makes it difficult to transport livestock by vehicle

This forced him to come up the unconventional solution of using a drone.

Unfortunately, poor visibility hindered the operation.

What should have been a routine trip turned into a major mishap.

The plan had been to deliver over 10 pigs that day, but the drone incident forced the farmer to abandon the mission.

A local power company quickly dispatched 12 workers to repair the damaged power line, but the outage lasted for a full 10 hours.

“The repair costs are about 10,000 yuan (£1,100),” said a company representative.

Authorities are now investigating the farmer for violating no-fly zone regulations.

“We are still gathering evidence,” an officer stated.

“If the farmer is found guilty, he will face administrative penalties and will be required to compensate for the damage to the power infrastructure.”

While the use of drones in agriculture is growing in rural China, it’s typically limited to tasks like crop monitoring and planting – not transporting livestock.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a farmer has found themselves in a dangerous situation with tragic consequences.

Earlier this week, Aleksej Kleinov was fatally injured in a workplace accident while attempting to assist a colleague in a field.

Kleinov was helping to hitch a mini picker to a tractor when the machinery’s arm unexpectedly lifted and struck him on the head.

Stunned, Kleinov managed to take a few steps away from the scene before collapsing.

Colleagues rushed to his side, but despite their efforts to help, the injuries were too severe.

Emergency services were quickly called to the scene, but Kleinov could not be revived and was declared dead at the site of the accident.
