A fast-moving wildfire in Riverside County has expanded to approximately 99 acres as of Sunday evening, prompting mandatory evacuation orders for several zones in the unincorporated community of Aguanga. No injuries have been reported, but officials are urging residents in impacted areas to leave immediately.
Evacuation orders—classified as an immediate threat to life—have been issued for the following zones:
- RVC-1979
- RVC-2044
- RVC-2178
- RVC-2180
In addition, evacuation warnings—which indicate a potential threat to life or property—have been issued for:
- RVC-2043
- RVC-2115
- RVC-2177
- RVC-2178 (partially under both warning and order zones)
Residents who may require additional time to evacuate, or who have pets or livestock, are strongly encouraged to leave now.

The wildfire, officially named the Mindy Fire, was first reported around 3:41 p.m. Sunday near Mindy Way and Decoursey Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Fire crews remain on the ground working to contain the blaze, which continues to produce large, visible columns of smoke across the region.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Although officials initially reported no immediate threats to homes, the fire has drawn widespread concern from residents. One Facebook user, commenting on the fire department’s official update, wrote: “We can see huge columns of smoke from Oakridge Ranches in East Temecula… A BIG thank you to all firefighting staff may the force be with you!”
The fire has also been monitored by AlertCalifornia, a statewide wildfire detection system operated in partnership with the University of California. Remote camera images show dramatic smoke plumes from the Mindy Fire alongside the nearby Wolf Fire, underscoring the broader wildfire activity across the region.
