A fast-moving vegetation fire that broke out in Riverside County on Sunday afternoon has grown approximately 73 acres, though no injuries or evacuations have been reported as of midday, officials said.

Named the Mindy Fire after its point of origin on Mindy Way, just east of Decoursey Road in the unincorporated community of Aguanga, the blaze was first reported around 3:41 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Crews remain on the scene working to contain the flames, which have generated large, visible smoke columns rising over the surrounding landscape. Officials have not identified a cause, and the fire remains under investigation.

While the fire has not yet posed an immediate threat to homes or lives, it has drawn attention from residents and observers. One Facebook user, commenting on the department’s official post, wrote, “We can see huge columns of smoke from Oakridge Ranches in East Temecula… A BIG thank you to all firefighting staff may the force be with you!”

The blaze has also been tracked by AlertCalifornia, a wildfire monitoring system operated in partnership with the University of California. Images captured by the platform’s remote cameras show towering smoke plumes from the Mindy Fire alongside the nearby Wolf Fire.

This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
