An 18-year-old from Middle River was arrested Thursday in connection with a shooting last year that killed a man at a hotel near the Johns Hopkins Hospital, according to Baltimore Police.
Baltimore Police said in a Monday news release that they believe the teenager fatally shot 28-year-old Kierra Tripp after “a dispute during a birthday party” at the hotel on the 800 block of North Wolfe Street, where The Residence Inn Baltimore at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus is located.
Police responded at around 1:29 a.m. on Nov. 17 to a report of gunfire at the hotel, where medics declared Tripp dead at the scene.
Police said that they arrested the suspect Thursday, the teen’s 18th birthday, at a residence in Middle River, and he was charged with first-degree murder. Information on his case, including his defense attorney, was not available Monday in online court records.
