They were once touted as Melbourne‘s golden couple: a high-profile doctor and globally recognised public health leader, and his wife, a former Miss Universe Australia turned paediatric oncologist.
But it appears the romance between Dr Sandro Demaio and Dr Olivia Wells has quietly come to an end.
The glamorous pair, who married in 2024 in a lavish ceremony in Tuscany, have all but confirmed their split, with eagle-eyed followers noticing they have mysteriously vanished from each other’s Instagram accounts.
Loved-up photos that once documented their relationship have been deleted, and neither has featured the other on their social media for some time.
Further hinting that the couple are no longer an item, Dr Demaoi’s Instagram page now states that he is no longer based in Melbourne and is instead living in Seoul, South Korea.
Neither Dr Demaio nor Dr Wells has publicly addressed the split.

Back in 2019, the accomplished pair were profiled by The Herald Sun as one of Melbourne’s rising power couples, known for being active on the city’s charity and social circuit.

In 2019 he returned to Melbourne after being appointed CEO of VicHealth.
He also made regular media appearances as an expert during the Covid-19 pandemic, and was a panelist on popular ABC series Ask The Doctor.
Dr Wells, meanwhile, shot to fame in 2013 when she represented Australia in the Miss Universe pageant in Russia.
She is also an active philanthropist and regularly volunteers for health-related charities including the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation.
