Large lines wrapped around Dodger Stadium Wednesday afternoon as fans eagerly awaited the first Shohei Ohtani bobblehead giveaway of the 2025 season.

The bobblehead depicts the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar wearing a white home jersey with a black bat slung over his shoulder and his new 2024 National League MVP award in his hand.

It’s the first of four Ohtani bobbleheads to be released this upcoming season.

On Wednesday, fans lined up five to six hours before gates at Dodger Stadium opened with fans of Ohtani — or resellers — hoping to get their hands on the collectibles which have proven to be major commodities.

As of 5 p.m., multiple eBay listings were asking for hundreds of dollars for the exclusive giveaway. Last season, some resellers were listing some limited edition stadium giveaways for upwards of $1,000.

The Dodgers were scheduled to take on the Atlanta Braves at Dodger Stadium with an early first pitch around 5:40 p.m. The Dodgers are currently undefeated on the season, boasting a 7-0 record since the season began, including two regular season games taking place in Ohtani’s home country.

The next Ohtani bobblehead giveaway will take place on May 15 — that figurine depicts Ohtani sliding into base to celebrate his history-making 2024 season in which he became the only player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season.
