MARYLAND (DC News Now) — Voters in Maryland approved a ballot measure that will add the right to abortion in the statewide constitution Tuesday.
The right to abortion is already protected under Maryland law, but the Associated Press reported that this addition to the constitution would make it harder for that law to be reversed or changed.
Maryland legislators voted to put the amendment on the ballot last year after 2022 when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
