A Married At First Sight groom was accused of domestic violence three years before he appeared on the hit Channel Nine show.
According to court documents, Adrian Araouzou, 30, was the subject of domestic violence charges in 2021.
Araouzou faced three charges – assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence common assault and resisting police – but he was found not guilty on all counts.
All three charges were dismissed in a NSW court in November 2021.
According to court documents, the charges stemmed from an incident at Araouzou’s home which he shared with his then-partner.
Police were called to the property after a witness heard screaming.
His partner later signed a police statement days later stating that injuries sustained during the incident were not the result of an assault, but rather from a ‘seizure’.

‘I am horrified Adrian has been accused of being a perpetrator of domestic violence, as this is the furthest thing from the truth. I want the matter dropped, so that Adrian and I can move on,’ she wrote.
Despite the charges being dismissed, The Australian reports that Nine and production company Endemol Shine launched an investigation into the incident after a friend of Araouzou’s then-partner contacted producers.
Speaking through his lawyers last year, Araouzou vehemently denied the allegations.
‘Any suggestion of physical assault is categorically denied,’ he said.
‘I had my day in court, I was found not guilty and the application for an AVO was dismissed. Any allegation otherwise is completely baseless and highly defamatory.’
Araouzou was convicted of drink driving in March 2019.

Later that year, he also plead guilty to giving police a false name or address, driving while suspended and driving during a disqualification period.
He also had a charge of assaulting a police officer dismissed by a magistrate in 2019.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Nine for comment.
The revelations come after Adrian rubbished suggestions of a cheating scandal with co-star Sierah Swepstone.
Wednesday’s dinner party appeared to show the pair playing ‘footsie’ together under the table as their respective partners Billy Belcher and Awhina Rutene sat beside them.
Sierah was also seen puckering up her lips and making kissing gestures towards Adrian, who smiled and enjoyed the attention from the bride.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Araouzou shut down claims he ‘cheated’ on his bride Awhina Rutene, insisting there was never anything between them.

Speaking through his lawyers last year, Araouzou vehemently denied the allegations
‘Look, if bumping feet under a crowded dinner table is cheating, then half the cast must be guilty. It’s ridiculous,’ he said.
‘If that is cheating, then I also cheated with Jeff [Gobbles], Rhi [Disljenkovic], and everyone else at the dinner party because we were all sitting close together.’
However, the MAFS star did confirm he went out with Sierah—but stressed it was part of a group outing that also included grooms Tony and Billy.
He admitted he should have invited Awhina, but claimed they were fighting at the time
‘I completely understand why she was upset. In hindsight, I should have invited her as well,’ he explained.
